Azure Network Engineer
Job description
We are seeking a skilled Azure Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud
networking solutions within Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
Azure networking services, hybrid connectivity, and enterprise-grade network security. You will
collaborate with cloud architects, security engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure scalable,
reliable, and secure network infrastructures.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage Azure networking solutions including Virtual Networks(VNets), Subnets, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Load Balancers, Private Link,and VPN Gateways.
Configure and maintain hybrid network connectivity such as ExpressRoute, Site-to-Site VPN, and Virtual WAN.
Implement and monitor network security best practices, including NSGs, ASGs, DDoS
protection, WAF, and Zero Trust networking principles.
Troubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issues in cloud andhybrid environments.
Optimize network architecture for cost, scalability, and high availability.
Automate network deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
Work closely with security and compliance teams to enforce policies, governance, and monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Network Watcher.
Support disaster recovery, backup, and failover strategies for network infrastructure.
Document architectures, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Provide technical expertise and support for projects and incident resolution.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
Strong knowledge of Azure networking services: VNets, Peering, Load Balancing,
Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Private DNS, etc.
Expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, and TCP/IP protocols.
Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud connectivity and network troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and automation scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
Understanding of network security concepts: segmentation, firewalls, SSL/TLS, identity-aware networking.
Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-700: Azure Network Engineer Associate, AZ-104, AZ-305) or equivalent hands-on experience.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SD-WAN and enterprise WAN connectivity.
Knowledge of cloud-native DevOps practices (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Experience with third-party security and networking appliances in Azure (e.g., Palo
Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
Familiarity with Kubernetes networking (AKS) and container networking solutions (CNI, Calico, etc.).
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
